Thirukkurunkudi an Art Historical Study

 திருக்குறுங்குடி] is a townwhich is located in , , South India. The   and it belongs to Nanguneri Assembly. At thefoothills of the Western Ghats and 40 km to the North of  Thiruvananthapuram Divyadesam,  Vaishnavites.

The interiors of the main temple tower are covered with wood sculptures of teak. The sculptures depict all shivite and vaishnava themes as well as other secular scenes.There are five Nambis in this Kshetram. They are Nindra Nambi (Standing posture), Irundha Nambi (Sitting posture), Kidandha Nambi(Sleeping posture), Thiruparkadal Nambi and Thirumalai Nambi. Thiruparkadal Nambi Temple is located very near to the River Nambiyaru one km from the main temple. Thirumalai Nambi Temple is on the hills (Mahendragiri Mountain) 8 km from the main temple. In Tamil language the word "nambi"means personification of all virtuous and righteous qualities blended with beauty and grace. 

Dr.Santhalingam Pandya Nadu Centre for Historical Research Madurai took estampage of inscriptions which is published in Aavanam research journal 2013 and 2016.
