Bodinayakannur Murals a study
A field visit to document the Bodinayakanur Palace Murals 20thApril 2015 by Padhmapriya. Bodinayakanuris a municipality in Theni District of Tamilnadu. This place is also called as the "Cardamom capital of India". The Bodinayakas were vassals of the Vijayanagar Empire. The Bodinayakanur palace might have been built during the time of Tirumalai Bodinayaka around 1849 CE. Her visit to this palace was a thrilling experience. She was stunned to see the Ramayana Murals intact in the Kalyana Mandapam walls which were very much above the eye level. With the help of a ladder she was able to have a closer look.
